At Wrestlemania 23, Donald Trump and Vince McMahon will put their hair on the line in a match dubbed the “Battle of the Billionaires.” The two billionaires will each pick a wrestler to represent them in the ring. The mogul who’s pick wins the match gets the privilege of yelling “off with his hair” to the loser.
Wrestling and Apprentice fans can’t wait to see the match. But, this is just another attempt by the corporate kingpin turned reality star, aka “The Donald,” to gain publicity. Imagine if two women, say Angelina Jolie and Madonna, decided to place a bet with their hair on the line. Would they get the same publicity? Most likely the answer would be no. Instead they would be greeted by a barrage of chastising articles from the press.
So, let’s call this what it is, a publicity stunt. But hey it did its job, and got me to write this article.

Very true!
I catch wrestling here and there, mostly because of the nostalgic effects, but it never ceases to amaze me what sorts of silly stunts they pull to grab attention. If it’s not pseudo-striptease shows, it’s midgets running around with their pants hanging down.. or heads being shaved on LIVE TV! Don’t get me wrong: low-brow entertainment has it’s place and WWE & ECW makes no pretense of it, but it is still comical!
It’s a shame that there is such a double standard on such publicity stunts. Eveyone has their biases but some ignorance is more rampant than others, it seems. I personally find it silly that they keep making a bit deal over Ms. Spear and her hair incident.. As if she is the only person on the face of the world ever do something random and perhaps crazy!
Donald Trump has his little niche of corporate, narcissistic, cut-throat fan boys and now he is tying in the aggression and pure testoserone value of wrestling. It’s a brilliant cross-promotion, as much as you have to roll your eyes at it (believe me, I know I am). Overall, they’re trying to make Trump seem more like a “real person”, allowing his image to seem more warm and inviting to wider audiences. It makes sense from a marketing stancepoint.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing Trump get rid of that ridiculous raccoon on his head. =oX
