Two artists sued NBC and the creators of Heroes this week claiming that their work was wrongfully taken by NBC and adapted into the prime-time drama.
In April 2005, the artists were showcasing their work at an exhibition at Hunter College in New York City. The lawsuit states that two writers for NBC’s Crossing Jordan, who later worked with Tim Kring to develop Heroes took copies of their work. The works in question depicsts an artist who paints the future and more specifically the destruction of two New York City landmarks. This bares a striking similarity to the character of Isaac Mendez, a core character in the Heroes story line.
NBC’s Heroes returns on April 23. If you missed any episodes you can catch them now on NBC Rewind.
