Ben & Jerry’s is introducing a new flavor of ice cream, and its focal point is Comedy Central cult favorite Stephen Colbert. The new flavor is the “American Dream,” vanilla ice cream topped with waffle cone pieces and caramel. Their calling it “the sweet taste of liberty in your mouth.”
Co-founder Jerry Greenfield sees this as a way to show his company represents all political ideologies. “He’s about political activism, so are we. He stands up for what he believes in, so do we. He supports Bill O’Reilly, and we… think he has a right to his opinion.”
The always in-character and comedic Colbert had his on thoughts to share on being named a new flavor. “I’m not afraid to say it,” Colbert stated. “Dessert has a well-known liberal agenda. “What I hope to do with this ice cream is bring some balance back to the freezer case.”
