The weird team of Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller will star in “Hardy Men,” which is meant to be an action comedy based on the long running book series, “The Hardy Boys.”
Apparently, they will play the Frank and Joe Hardy, who are now grown up, but are feuding with each other. They are then forced to overcome this sibling rivalry in order to reunite and solve a mystery.
I respect the fact that someone wants to revitalize the Hardy Boys, but I can’t say I’m thrilled by the choice of starring actors. Cruise has just been weird the past couple of years and I can picture him overacting as he always does. And Stiller…well, he’s always a clown. I mean come on, can you picture Ben Stiller delivering a “crushing blow to the jaw” as the Hardy Boys did back in their books? And please don’t reference Stiller’s Starsky and Hutch performance as a viable lead-in to this movie.
The project is still in development and it’s starting to make me wonder who they’re going to get to play Chet, the chunky friend with the jalopy. If anything, please casting director.. I don’t want see Stiller’s bud Owen Wilson in a fat suit.
