The California Highway Patrol is now recommending that singer Brandy be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter in the December Interstate 405 crash that killed a woman. According to city attorney’s office spokesman Nick Velasquez, “The office is currently reviewing the case and determining whether the evidence warrants the filing of a misdemeanor charge of vehicular manslaughter.”
This type of charge has a maximum sentence of one year in county jail and a $1,000 fine, which is chump change for Brandy.
I’m glad to hear that she’s been really cooperative with authorities. This is just an unfortunate incident and given that she’s offering her full condolences to the victim’s family, I hope this doesn’t tarnish her image in any way.
