pejax.jpgNew Line, MGM, and Peter Jackson have been a-tusslin’ about the movie “The Hobbit” and a prequel to the Lord of the Rings (LOTR) trilogy.. so much so that Jackson is now out as the director for both films. Jackson posted a letter on LOTR fan site theonering.net that New Line said he will not be directing. New Line owns the production rights and MGM owns the distribution rights.

Didn’t I tell you money and big business is bad for the entertainment industry?

Good luck New Line. Mr. Jackson is responsible for arguably one of the greatest movie trilogies of all time. Die hards fans of the movies will not be happy with any one else in the director’s chair. It hasn’t been a good year for Jackson as his Halo movie project has been delayed by Microsoft. Good thing he made some pocket change during the LOTR movies and King Kong.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the Hobbit done as an Anime movie.
