According to Variety, Bryan Singer has signed a deal with Warner Bros. Pictures to direct a sequel to this summer’s blockbuster Superman Returns. Word on the street is that the movie is slated to be release in the summer of 2009, however that is very preliminary given that there isn’t a script or a budget yet. Singer is the first person to jump on board the project - Brandon Routh and Kevin Spacey have not signed on yet.
While Superman Returns was what I call “amusing,” I’m hoping out hope that Warner Bros. can produce a comic book movie more along the lines of Batman Begins, which was an amazing and gritty take on the famed DC Comics superhero.

Routh was too skinny to play Superman.. maybe since this movie isn’t until 2009, they’ll throw some extra hamburgers his way LOL
