As if Grey’s Anatomy needed any more drama, Isaiah Washington (Dr. Burke) has issued an apology for losing his cool (well actually grabbing at the throat and shoving Patrick Dempsey) and calling T.R. Knight a certain derogatory word to describe his sexuality. This all happened on Oct 9th on-set between filming scenes.
According to People Magazine:
“I sincerely regret my actions and the unfortunate use of words during the recent incident on-set. Both are beneath my own personal standards…. I have nothing but respect for my coworkers… and have apologized personally to everyone involved.”
I mean, come on, what a weak apology. No specifics, no “I’m sorry”, nothing. And to top it off, this sorry attempt at redemption comes two whole weeks after the incident. You know what, I really don’t feel sorry for his character in the show (who has been shot and left somewhat handicapped). I actually hope his relationship with Christina (Sandra Oh) fizzles. Anyone with me!?
Where does he get off making a comment on sexuality. He should really look at himself in that picture and consider his comment.
