In a not-so-surprising move, Whitney “Crack is Wack” Houston is officially calling it quits with her hubby of 14 years, Bobby Brown. Ms. Houston filed divorce papers in California’s Orange County Superior court this week - just one month after she filed for legal separation from Brown. Rumor is that Whitney is also looking to gain custody of their 13 year old daughter Bobbie Kristina.
If you ask me, she is tired of “Laying Low” and wants her fame and status back. The couple married when she was at the top of her game and it’s been a long string of disappointing mishaps since then. From the drug abuse, to run-ins with the law to some serious fighting, Whitney and Bobby have been the butt of many jokes and Saturday Night Live/MadTV satires.
Speaking of getting back her status, Whit has been working a new album with her mentor Clive Davis. She’s been out of the game for a while, but it’s quite possible that she still has what made her famous in the first place. But I think nothing short of a miracle is necessary for her to get back to the old Whitney. But hey, if Mariah Carey pulled it off, so can Ol’ Whit.
