After watching the latest episode of “HEROES” on NBC rewind the Bag Man had a few things he wanted to share. Now if you haven’t seen episode four yet, STOP READING. The Bag Man makes no apologies about spoilers. You’ve been warned and I’ll end it there. To all true followers of the Heroes epic, read on. Ok, here goes. Hiro Nakamura, played by Masi Oka up to this point has been the source of comic relief in “HEROES”. Now he’s some type of Ninja Hero from the future? Play on words aside (Hiro being the Hero), does this bother anyone? Is it me or is everyone tired of seeing plots involving time travelers and paradoxes. Let’s go over the details:
- So far Isaac has been painting future scenarios which have all come to pass.
- Isaac’s also created a comic book, which Hiro got a hold of while traveling to the future.
- Hiro wanting to change an inevitable future, the destruction of New York City, follows each step outlined in Isaac’s comic. Each step followed verbatim has been preordained and will invariably lead to New York’s demise.
- Now Hiro shows up, is more serious than ever, SPEAKS ENGLISH, has what appears to be a sword strapped to his back and is back from a future that probably takes place after the destruction of New York.
- We had enough of these time traveling alter egos in Back to the Future, Terminator, Star Trek and Sliders. Now don’t get me wrong, aside from Sliders, the Bag Man is a big fan of these titles. But you can only have so many paradoxes in your life before it gets… I don’t know, too been-there-done-that.

So, now that I’ve got that off my chest I have one word I’d like to share on this series. Amazing. The characters are memorable and most are not clear cut good guys. Which works great for me. I’d like to hear your thoughts on the show and also your thoughts on the following question. Is Claire’s father really the mysterious Sylar? The Bag Man doesn’t think so. What your take? Oh and by the way… SHAME ON YOU SIMONE.

agreed peter is most like rogue. i think he’ll probably come in contact with ted though instead of sylar and just let loose. ted’s the guy who gave his wife cancer since he’s radioactive.
i think that peter is not sylar. he apparently can use other people’s powers, like rogue in x-men(without the contact or backlash), and he will get near sylar and wont be able to control his insane power. he will then combust and explode. its the most likely scenerio.
Peter’s the All American Nice guy, why would he turn into New York’s Grim Reaper?
You think Peter is Sylar????? Hiro seemed to be friends with Peter when he returned from the future, that would nix the whole Sylar/Peter theory. UNLESS HIRO WANTED PETER TO THINK THEY WERE FRIENDS!!!!
The real question is whether or not the scar is in the shape of the mysterious “S” symbol that keeps getting shown throughout the show, and whether or not it means that Peter is Sylar. Frankly, I find it unlikely, but stranger things have been done y’know.
I don’t think this is a paradox stroyline.
I think that the Hiro chracter we’re seeing here is just a ‘future Hiro’ who is more capable, confident and ‘heroic’ than his younger self (and he’s learnt English).
It’s just Hiro a few months/years down the line after the group has met and formed. I thought his friendship for Peter was great (”you look different without your scar”) and the scene overall was probably the best of the series so far just because it showed us a quick teaser of what’s to come.
Really enjoying the series, glad someone else loves Hiro too!
haha. i dunno bout the paradoxes, but Hiro is some hysterical comic relief.
