“Weird Al” Yankovic is back and September 26th marks the release of his latest album “Straight Outta Lynwood.” Is it earth shattering music? No. Is it something that people will say this album defined the decade? Probably not.
BUT THE BAG MAN IS STILL EXCITED. That’s right. The man who brought you “I’m Fat” – a parody of Michael Jackson’s “I’m Bad” – and Amish Paradise – spoofing Coolio’s “Gangsters Paradise” – is back at it.
Yankovic’s single, “White and Nerdy,” recently premiered and is now lighting up YouTube’s bandwidth. Myspacers across the country are still adding it to their pages and personally I don’t blame them. This song spoofs “Ridin” by rapper Chamillionaire. But unlike past hip hop artists, e.g. Coolio, Chamillionaire is not taking the parody personally.

If everyone remembers the 1996 Grammys, Coolio vehemently expressed his anger towards Weird Al for “Amish Paradise,” much to the displeasure of his record label. Chamillionaire, a relatively new mainstream artist, on the other hand is taking the parody in stride. He actually stated he was proud Weird Al went after his song since the comedian tends to only go after the mega stars. So what’s next for Mr. Yankovic? I don’t know, but with “Transformers” coming out in 2007, the Bag Man hopes the Weird One will bless this movie with a track like he did in the original cartoon movie in the 80s (for those too young to remember “Dare to Be Stupid” was legendary).
