One of my favorite shows, “Everybody Hates Chris“, is set to return this weekend with its premiere episode of season two. I’ve just watched it and it looks like we’re in for more nerdy tales from young Chris, more money-conserving from father Julius, and more loud mouthing and gossiping from mother Rochelle. If you’ve never seen this show, it’s hilarious and full of gut busting moments.
Guest starring in the premiere is Whoopi Goldberg, who plays a new neighbor to Chris’ family as well as an overprotective grandmother of a girl Chris likes. Also said to be guest starring later this season is Wayne Brady, who is currently hosting the reality TV show, Celebrity Duets. The comedian/actor will appear in the Thanksgiving episode and will play Uncle Louis, the successful brother of cheapskate dad Julius.
If you didn’t know, the show was created by comedian Chris Rock and is loosely based on his upbringing in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. EHC, formerly of the network UPN, now calls the recently created “The CW” as its home. The CW is a joint venture of Warner Brothers Entertainment and CBS Corp.
The season premiere, which airs Sunday Oct. 1, 2006 at 7PM EST/PST, is exclusively available now for viewing on MSN.com (http://tv.msn.com/tv/tvbuzz).
