“If you smelllllll what the Rock is COOKING.”A phrase we will no longer hear, according to Dwayne Johnson. The man we used to call ‘The Rock.’ The People’s Champ. A household name, regardless of whether you watched wrestling or not. Mr. Johnson says he doesn’t want to come back to the world of wrestling. A sad day for us all. Not my personal favorite wrestler of all time, but a legend nonetheless. Up there with the likes of Hulk Holgan and Rick Flair (early Flair not STAY IN RETIREMENT FLAIR - WOOOOOO).

The Rock - and on a side note Stone Cold Steve Austin - left the WWE without a proper sendoff. They both made small cameos later. The Rock showed up for a final team up with McFoley as “The Rock & Sock Connection.” Before once again disappearing back into the world of acting. Now I know some may say, isn’t wrestling just acting. Hey, the plots may be scripted, but it’s still a man’s sport. People still get injured. Wearing of spandex underwear on screen aside, if Triple H is making man laws wrestling’s gotta be a man sport.
Back to the subject at hand. The words that used to sound off to sold out arenas around the world. “Finally the Rock has COME BACK TO…” has been changed to:
“Finally the Rock has left us…”
We’ll miss you Rock. But if the acting career doesn’t come off, please don’t do like some other wrestling stars whom shall remain nameless (you know who you are). Don’t come back after your 50 and try to lay the People’s Elbow down once more.
Leave with your dignity and we will always remember you for the glory days.

the rock is getting better as an actor.. he did pretty good in Gridiron Gang.
