The State of the Movie Business

Is it me or is every multi million dollar budget movie out now just a remake of some movie from the 70s that was done better and with a way lower budget?
I see movies at Indie film festivals, with a 50k budget that surpass the blockbusters in content and depth by leaps and bounds. Well we sell movies to people who want to buy tickets so maybe its not a new set of movies we need, but a new set of moviegoers?
